The Hollywood laser carbon peel, sometimes also called ‘Spectra peel’, is a gentle exfoliating and resurfacing treatment evenly smooths skin tone, tighten skin, reduces the appearance of pigment, enlarged pores, fine lines and acne scars without requiring any downtime. The treatment uses activated carbon particles and 1064nm or 785nm Nd:YAG Q-switched laser. Your skin will look and feel younger. This treatment can be performed alone, but works best when you have series treatments over a period of time until you achieve your desired result. The Hollywood Laser Peel is not only beneficial for facial rejuvenation, collagen regeneration, enlarged pores and fine lines. This treatment option is also highly effective in the treatment of active acne, skin scarring, melasma, lentigo, sun or age spots, as well as for painless gentle tattoo removal.
There is no pain with the procedure, and it takes about 10 minutes. The procedure can be repeated in 2-4 week intervals. People who are NOT candidates for the procedure are: Darker skin individuals, and recently tanned skin.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING TREATMENT?
Your physician may apply a light layer of activated carbon gel to your skin, this lotion has a carbon base, so your skin will look as if you are wearing a mud mask. Your physician will begin treatment, by applying the laser energy to your skin. You will hear slight snapping sounds when the laser is fired and may feel a slight tingling or warmth. Your doctor will make multiple passes over your skin with the laser during each treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Treating aging skin is an ongoing struggle. Spectra Peel is such a gentle procedure that you have one time or many. This is a very gentle treatment where you will not see skin redness, you can immediately go back to your normal skin moisturising routine, and use make up. For patients with specific skin problem that they wish to improve on, they will require on average a series of 6 sessions 2-4 weeks apart.

DOES HOLLYWOOD PEEL HURT?
The majority of patients report no pain, they only experience a slight warming of their skin and a light prickling feeling. Typically, no anaesthesia or topical anaesthetic cream is required.
When will I see results?
Results are seen immediate and continue to develop over time. Collagen will be regenerated, and fine lines and wrinkles continue to reduce in appearance. Bacteria causing acne is destroyed during this procedure and this will reduce future breakouts. For patients with acne, they will require a course of 6 to 10 treatments to eventually destroy all acne causing bacteria to achieve more permanent result.
